Horses may need treatment when showing the following signs:
  • Un-levelness
  • Uneven wear of shoes
  • Sore back; uneven pressure from saddles, numnahs etc
  • Unexplained deterioration in usual performance
  • Asymmetry, such as stiffness on one rein, or disunited canter
  • Unexplained resistance; such as napping, rearing, refusing, bucking etc
  • Uneven muscle development or atrophy
  • Following a fall or accident

The horse is an athlete and it is our responsibility to ensure that he receives the treatment necessary to enable him to do the job demanded of him with ease. He should be treated by various professionals such as an Equine Body Worker, dentist, saddler, farrier etc in conjunction with the vet on a regular basis thus ensuring that anything untoward is detected in its early stages.

Massage is a complementary treatment and is no substitute for proper veterinary care. The owner/handler will be asked to sign a form stating that they have gained their vet’s permission for massage to be carried out.
